Jessica Iannetta is currently the Deputy Editor for the Cecil Whig newspaper, where she also covers education.
Originally from New Jersey, she graduated from Syracuse University in May 2015 with a degree in newspaper and online journalism and political science.
Since Jessica first caught the journalism bug in high school after covering a local mayor race, she’s had a wide range of journalism positions in almost every corner of the media landscape. Her experience includes editing positions at SU’s student newspaper and a student magazine, writing feature articles for The Denver Post and The Star-Ledger, interning for a lifestyle magazine and creating a website for a financial reporter. Outside of reporting, Jessica also has experience in creating and managing websites, data visualization and photography.
Jessica spent summer 2014 interning for The Star Ledger in the features department and was news editor for the award-winning student newspaper The Daily Orange during the Fall 2014 semester. During summer 2015, she interned for The Denver Post in the features department.
In August 2015, Jessica joined the Cecil Whig newspaper in Elkton, MD as an education reporter before being promoted to Deputy Editor of the paper in July 2016.
